Bathing Walks at the Banff Centre

Shinrin Yoku or Forest Bathing is used extensively in the Japanese wellness system as a way to boost health and wellbeing. Research shows that time in nature helps reduce stress, anxiety, overwhelm and will increase focus, immunity, and an overall feeling of wellness. This gentle model is ideal for all types of people and abilities. Forest Bathing walks offers opportunities to connect to yourself, others, and to the natural world around you in a safe and nourishing way. This session is facilitated by a Certified Forest Therapy Guide (ANFT).

What to bring: Dress for the weather. Forest Bathing is a gentle forest immersion and you will not be doing any activities that will generate heat. Testimonial

“The pandemic is taking a toll on staff – we’re tired and struggling to escape the spin. We knew we needed a brain reset, and to relax. That’s exactly what two hours with Ronna and the forest did for us. We started the session wound up. By the end, we were almost asleep sitting next to our forest friends. Driving home, we felt light and almost giddy. This was a great COVID-safe activity – we drove ourselves and were outside and naturally distanced the whole time. It’s been a week since we bathed and we are still feeling the positive effects. Thank you, Ronna.”
